Flamingo Ditch Workshop 6/30/25

Monday, June 30th, 1:00 pm, Council Chambers (401 W. Venice Ave.)

Are you interested in the City’s work to prevent and respond to flooding? Monday’s workshop will be specific to the Flamingo Ditch area (see map below), which experienced catastrophic flooding during the 2024 hurricane season. The broader issue of flooding and stormwater management affects all neighborhoods in Venice.

The workshop agenda includes an introduction from acting City Engineer Jon Kramer; a presentation from Attorney Derek Schroth about the city’s legal obligations; and a presentation from CPE (Coastal Protection Engineering) about their findings from the Flamingo Ditch Feasibility Study. The public is welcome and can speak after the presentations.
