We applaud the decision by the Venice City Council to DENY the density exception sought for the Fox Cove development in North Venice (at Auburn Rd/Border Rd).
Controlling overdevelopment in every Venice neighborhood helps our entire community by reducing traffic congestion and the strain on infrastructure and public resources. In short, it helps protect what makes Venice special.
We appreciate the City Council’s respect for the Planning Commission’s recommendation, our Comprehensive Plan and for listening to residents who continue to voice their opposition to such overdevelopment.
We thank the Venice City Council for, in this case, sticking to the plan (the Comprehensive Plan)!
